Oveeall an excellent hotel in a great location and value for money
Room was very nice, Spa was amazing, food was top class, all staff were of the highest professional standard.
The hotel was well presented and has good facilities. The staff as very friendly and happy to help with any request. The surrounding area is amazingly beautiful with lots of things to do, especially if you like the outdoors.
The hotel is not sure what style it is trying to achieve, there are distinct differences in decorating throughout the hotel. Also their choice of music is very distracting, at one point annoying my wife.
The staff were excellent, the spa facilities were top class & the food in the hotel restaurant was fabulous.
The hotel bar Molly Darcys was not a pleasant experience. The bar food was very poor, the bar itself is dull, poorly lit & poorly decorated & I would highly recommend that it be avoided if you want to enjoy your stay at the hotel.
Expected it to be more luxurious for a 5 star.
ideally located for walking in national park and torc
a little far out from the town for evening entertainment
Most of the staff were very friendly, down to earth and very helpful.
Dining in Molly Darcy on Friday night I ordered the Classic Burger with french fries, my husband ordered the special, Loin of pork with mashed potatoes. My burger was burnt and inedible, I returned it and had it replaced with the Thai Prawns, which were very nice but by the time I received it my appetite had gone. My husband felt the pork was reheated and had severe indigestion during the night. The following night we tried to get into the main restaurant but were refused, the manager stated the restaurant was booked out and he did not want to overload the chef!!. The restaurant only had four diners in it, when we pointed this out and also explained about our disastrous meal in Molly Darcy's the previous night, he still refused to accommodate us even though we went back 3 times. We eventually ate in Molly Darcy's and when we came back through the main restaurant an hour later, it still looked empty. We challenged the manager again and he still maintained the restaurant was booked out. We really believed that as Muckross Park Hotel is a five star hotel we should have been accommodated and felt very let down.
The food was excellent, both in the bar and in the restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
The service in the bar was extremely slow and every time that you wanted a drink, you had to wait for 5 to 10 minutes, whether it was busy or not.
some of the interior was very nice such as the cocktail bar.
Housekeeping was very late. THe spa is dark and starting to go into disrepair, A double room is actuallu a twin with the beds pushed together and it is very far out from town.
The breakfast was excelent. The hotel was quiet and located in the park
Spa was 30 euro extra No bicycles available despite being on the website
Molly Darcys is an excellent pub. The food and staff were second to none. The spa is beautiful.
Definitely not 5star!!the staff were friendly and professional but were all more concerned with pleasing the owner who's party ruined our quiet dinner in GB Shaws. One couple were moved mid dinner to the outside bar to facilitate the owner and our service suffered also, having been nearly forgotten about by staff who were stressed with their VIPs. Breakfast in bed arrived late, cold with items missing! The hotel is clean and location is good but it is not deserving of 5star in any way.
The room was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel in general was luxurious and the staff were friendly. The food in Molly Dareys was very good and we enjoyed the break.
On this site there is an indoor pool listed, but on arrival we discovered this is part of the spa and therefore not available to under 18's and has to be payed for at 30 euros per stay for adults we were lucky the weather was fine as a indoor pool can be an essential in Ireland. We have one son and he was treated very well but I would not recommend this hotel for people with a few children.
The breakfast was great amd so was the airconditioning in the room. Selection of DVDs to borrow quite good though not up to date. Good value for a 5 star hotel
I booked this hotel primarily for the indoor swimming pool which does not exist! It was awarded the best spa in the world 2011 and it states in bookings.com that it had an indoor pool but it only has a hydro pool which one cannot swim in according to hotel staff. Worst of all, we were not allowed to use the spa unless we paid 15 euros per person! I was booked for two nights but cancelled my 2nd night booking 20 minutes after checking in. I stayed for the night only because I could not get a refund for ,my first night stay. Disappointing.
Excellent location in front of the National Park.
luxury room very comfortable
difficulty in locating hotel from Killarney town. Advance sighposting?
